Special Thanks and Appreciation
The Chemistry & Biology Laboratories Remodeling Project was an elaborate collaborative effort of IGSOSANA members, other mountaineers at home and abroad, donors, Principals and teachers at the School.
Specifically, I will like to profoundly thank our senior Dr. Tosin Odumosu, who volunteered to hold the first site meetings with contractors and other stakeholders at the School, Members of IGSOSANA Building Committee – Arch. Ebong Ukor, Mr. Ayo Opakunbi, Mr. Yusuff Quazeem, Mr. Soji Adeyemi, Dr. Deji Ojetola, Dr. Gboyega Osinbowale, our General Secretary Mrs. Lawunmi Olafunmiloye, Principals Ajani and Jinadu.
I thank our Treasurer, Mr. Yinka Omole, who personally carried the Data Projectors all the way to Nigeria to meet the time deadline; IGSOSANA Vice-President Pastor Ayo Adebowale and Mrs. Tayo Thomas who represented the Branch at the Commissioning and dedication events. The technical team led by Architect Bolu, who has tirelessly been providing Pro Bono consultancy services for all projects on IGS campus – we cannot thank you enough. The CEO Tunnex Laboratory Engineering contractors, Mr. Tunji Olaleye Old Boy and Head Boy 1974) for such an outstanding professional work carried out on time and within budget – this is remarkable and praiseworthy.
Finally, our Global President, Professor (Venerable) K. Jaiyeoba for his leadership in deploying his convening power to preside over all site meetings for this project. As you have invested your time and resources in the development of our Alma mater, we pray the good Lord bless you abundantly.
In conclusion, it was yet another successful Founder’s Day reunion at the School – to God be the Glory.

Day 1 - Arrivals
The 106th Founder’s Day celebrations were another series of successful events spanning three days Friday 29 to Sunday 31 March 2019.
Day 1: Friday, 29 March 2019
Arrivals & Interactions with Students
The day commenced with old students arriving from all walks of life at the School to meet with current students, teachers and members of the Parents’ Teachers Association (PTA). In particular, members of the 1969-73 really stormed the School in large number.


Day 2 - Bishop Akinyele Road

Dedication of the Bishop Akinyele Road
Our Global President IGSOSA Prof. (Venerable) K. T. Jaiyeoba led members of the National Executive, old students, Principal, teachers and students on a walk to Molete the starting point of the Road leading to IGS. Lord Bishop of Ibadan South – Rt Rev. Popoola conducted the dedication ceremony. Others present were Dr. (Mrs.) Adeyemi – Chairperson IGS Senior School Governing Board, Chief Architect Fadele, Dr. Femi Adeyemi, and a host of others.

Day 2 - 1969-73 Class-Set

Renovation Project of Ebun Alayande Block by 1969-73 Class Set
Global President Prof (Venerable) Jaiyeoba in company of other members of the National Executive commissioned and dedicated the project as part of their 50th Anniversary of the Class Set.

In the evening, the gathering was treated to Obu Papa Raji with gari and Papa Raji bread at the Dinning Hall; bringing some sense of nostalgic memories.
Day 3 - Thanksgiving & Sick Bay Dedication

Founder’s Day Thanksgiving Service @ the School Chapel
In no time the crowd dwarfed the capacity of the School Chapel. Eminent old students throng the School campus. These include, Ambassador Olu Sanu, Chief Architect Fadele, Pa Francis Aramide, Chief Adepoju, Bishop George Lasebikan, Past National Presidents, Professor Aworh and Venerable Oyewole amongst others. There was the Thanksgiving by the 1969-73 Class Set and dedication of Electronic equipment donated to the School Chapel.
The officiating ministers included, Old Student and former Principal Rev. Daramola, Venerable Oyewusi. Venerable Adebayo (Old Boy) was the main preacher, while Global President Venerable K. T. Jaiyeoba read the only Bible lesson.
The chapel was all adorned with the colourful blue and golden taped school blazer that has ever been the envy of many. The laying of the wreath at the Bishop Akinyele’s cenotaph followed immediately after the service.
Commissioning & Dedication of the Sick Bay Project by 1968-72 Class Set:
Venerable Oyewole and Venerable Jaiyeoba, both past and current National Presidents, carried out the unveiling of the plaques respectively. And, Bishop Lasebikan led the dedication prayers.

Day 3 - Chemistry & Biology Lab Project

IGSOSANA Projects (N20 Million) Chemistry and Biology Laboratories Remodeling Project [87-Student Capacity]
Bishop Lasebikan did the Commissioning and Dedication of this project. This was landmark project at the School for the year. This project, is in furtherance of IGSOSANA theme for the School, “Towards IGS Centre of Excellence in Science Education by 2023,” Leveraging Technology.”
The main component of the Project includes:
- New Lab Work Benches
- Vulcathene Laboratory sink and accessories
- Fume Cupboard
- Laboratory stools
- Electrical wiring in PVC conduit pipes
- Gas Installations
- Data Projectors, microphones
- General Building works – floor tiling, paintings, ceiling fans, etc.
- New Storage facilities with shelves
- Teacher’s Office
- New 5-Unit Toilet Facilities
